I suggest you read up on WolframAlpha before you make that bet.

I did - and like I said before, it has nothing to do with knowledge. Yeh, I've watched my share of videos by "experts" on A.I. developments - the overriding message, if you really listen carefully, is that no one really knows how A.I. works - not at a core level.outof thebox wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 5:53 pm I suggest you read up on WolframAlpha before you make that bet.![]()
Lots of speculation, mental masturbation about the mechanisms underlying A.I. and so forth ... and yes, it will disrupt almost every industry, but that's pretty Captain Obvious.
These type of forums are useful mostly for gathering of sentiment information.
My bet against chattygeepee isn't based on any special knowledge of A.I., as I have stated before - it's simply playing the odds.
I quickly scanned the subs who recently posted generally positive information on chattygeepee - as you know, the Herd is generally wrong about 80% of the time, usually more, even.
So, the bet is simply that I'm betting the Herd will be wrong again. Occasionally, the Herd is not wrong, but it is always wrong _over_ time.
I constantly like to practice and refine my application of Herd Psychology in different ways ... this is no different.
I hear crickets ...

I personally could care less about ChatGPT or Bard or whatever. For now I have a very positive view of AI but reserve the right to flip flop anytime. I use GPT all the time and I am mildly impressed since I have to be on my toes about how it responds. Not perfect but in time let's see

A tech dude compared chattygeepee and Bard in the following manner:jlhooter wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 9:50 pm I personally could care less about ChatGPT or Bard or whatever. Google Bard beat openAI chatGPT for a query related to the near future, so as ****** had mentioned earlier, Bard may a good chance of winning over time. The question I asked: what is the outlook of stock market for the rest of this year?
Bard response:
The outlook for the stock market for the rest of 2023 is uncertain. There are a number of factors that could affect the market, including the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Federal Reserve is expected to continue to raise interest rates in an effort to combat inflation. This could lead to a slowdown in economic growth, which could hurt corporate earnings and weigh on stock prices.
The ongoing war in Ukraine is also a major source of uncertainty for the stock market. The war has caused a sharp rise in energy prices, which has hurt consumer spending and businesses. It is also unclear how the war will affect the global economy.
The COVID-19 pandemic is also a factor that could affect the stock market. The pandemic has caused a number of disruptions to the global economy, including supply chain disruptions and travel restrictions. It is unclear how long the pandemic will continue to affect the economy.
Despite these uncertainties, there are a number of factors that could support the stock market. The economy is still growing, and corporate earnings are expected to remain strong. The stock market is also relatively cheap, which could attract buyers.
Overall, the outlook for the stock market for the rest of 2023 is uncertain. There are a number of factors that could affect the market, both positively and negatively. Investors should carefully monitor the situation and make investment decisions based on their own individual circumstances.
-----
chatGPT response:
As an AI language model, I do not have the ability to predict future events or provide financial advice. The stock market is influenced by many factors, including global events, economic indicators, political decisions, and investor sentiment, among others. These factors are constantly changing and can have a significant impact on the stock market's performance.
It's always important to remember that investing involves risk, and it's important to do your own research and consult with a financial advisor before making any investment decisions. Additionally, past performance of the stock market does not guarantee future results.

For the above question at least, Bard appears more chatty (and smarter) than chattygeepee.

The Pandora's Box of A.I. has been opened - a 3rd entity will come and perish both Bard and chattygeepee, maybe ...

I'm going through this: https://learnprompting.org/docs/intro. Great resource, I already learned a lot.jlhooter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 12:15 pm I mean absolutely no disrespect to the forum, but when I see the words

Sol, you said the cybernetic bull is coming. That's what Dall-E makes of it:

Re: AI is improving rapidly (CHATGPT)
It's truly fascinating to witness Dalle-2 in action and see how it continues to improve over time. The impressive pictures it produces are a clear reflection of its capabilities. I happen to know someone who has used Python to enhance Chatgpt's capabilities, providing the ability to process real-time data. According to him, it's a significant improvement over Chatgpt3.5.
It's interesting to consider how the cybernetic bull may deceive people, especially as it advances towards the midlevel stage. Many will confuse this stage for the end stage.
What do you make of these instructions? I am sure you can fine-tune them and let us know if it works.
Install the necessary libraries:
To use the OpenAI API, you'll need to install the openai library. You can do this using pip:
bash
Copy code
pip install openai
Get your API key:
To use the GPT-3 API, you'll need an API key. Sign up for an account on OpenAI's website (https://beta.openai.com/signup/) and obtain your API key.
Set Python script:
Create a new Python script (e.g., chatgpt_demo.py) and import the necessary libraries:
python
Copy code
import openai
import os
Load your API key:
Load your API key into your Python script. You can set your API key as an environment variable or load it directly in the script.
Option 1 - Set as an environment variable:
bash
Copy code
export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"
python
Copy code
# In your Python script
openai.api_key = os.getenv("OPENAI_API_KEY")
Option 2 - Load directly in the script (less secure):
python
Copy code
openai.api_key = "your_api_key_here"
Write a function to interact with ChatGPT:
python
Copy code
def chat_with_gpt(prompt, model="text-davinci-002", n=1, max_tokens=150):
response = openai.Completion.create(
engine=model,
prompt=prompt,
n=n,
max_tokens=max_tokens,
temperature=0.5,
)
message = response.choices[0].text.strip()
return message
Test the function by sending a prompt:
python
Copy code
user_prompt = "What is the capital of France?"
response = chat_with_gpt(user_prompt)
print(response)
Run the script:
Execute the script in your terminal or your preferred Python environment:
bash
Copy code
python chatgpt_demo.py
You should see the response from ChatGPT printed on your terminal.

Sol, you have said before that AI will eliminate many jobs and only those people who are excellent at their jobs will have one. Don't you think that AI will level the playing field therefore the average worker will be as "smart" as the excellent worker? If this is the case then those who will keep their jobs will depend on other factors rather than their skill level. The doctor that is willing to aggressively do whatever it takes (even if its unethical) would end up on top. A doctor that will not question the narrative given from on high (ie, vaccines are safe) or who is super "woke" or who has connections will have a job regardless of their skill as a doctor. This is a darker future but it seems more likely from observing the last few years.

Indeed, a knife in the hands of a butcher or a half-decent surgeon leads to different results.
A.I. will simply exponentially expand pesky humans' ability to do both harm and good, I would venture to guess.
