Investing Platforms

Post by PuppBaby »

Currently I use Robinhood and Merrill Edge.

I am really disliking Merrill Edge at the moment, I am having a difficult time using the platform to execute trades. I also cannot for the life of me figure out how to sell a fractional share, it literally wont let me. On hold for 30 min now to get customer representative. If anyone knows please inform me.

What platforms do you all use, it would be nice if we could create a pole for everyone to vote.

There are many free polling services, you can just google them and place the link. Here is one i found quickly

https://www.poll-maker.com/

TDameritrade is pretty user friendly. When it comes to fractional shares, the idea is that when you place your order to close the position. After it is executed the fractional share will close out at that price towards the end of the day.

Tastytrade is not too shabby also

Schwab is also good but TDameritrade is part of them. Then you have interactivebrokers that allows you to trade shares from almost any country and many other instruments.

When the words short term appear under any post; the same conditions listed in the Market update under the short term category apply

The end is always near; its the beginning and how you live each moment that counts the most

After 55 minutes on hold they finally got back to me. Apparently fractional shares are sold off the 3rd Thursday of every month, leaves the investor with 0 control. I am likely transferring assets elsewhere, will do this when I sell off later this fall. I will look into your suggestions. Thanks.

Using IB so far. Allows me to trade fractional shares for Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia (REITs and Resources stocks mainly)

I've been using Schwab for years. User-friendly, intuitive interface.
