Universal Trigger?

Post by Investor87 »

Sol, Is the Universal Trigger still a "go" to start buying or should we just keep enjoying a good book and visualize patience paying off handsomely. I'm not jumping at the bit to jump in but do want to be wise.

On 1/21 the Dow topped out at 31,272. It closed at 29,983 on Friday. If it trades down 211 more points to 29,772 it will hit the first trigger (1500 points) within 9 business days (Wednesday the 3rd).

What do you think?

We are going to adjust the universal trigger as volatility is going to keep rising.

The first trigger is the dow shedding 1900 to 2400 points

2nd trigger Dow sheds 2900 to 3450

3rd trigger 4500 plus

Does anyone know how to set an alert on that? I guess we could say today is 30,757.15 so set a yahoo alert at 28,857, 27,857, 26,257. But of course you need to move the alerts periodically as the dow runs up.

I don't know of a way to set an alert on a 6% drop, 9.5%, and 14.6% drops respectively.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

I use Google Sheets to track my trades and have a calculation that tracks the Buy signal. I just need to update it periodically when the Dow hits a new high or the Dow trades sideways for a couple weeks. It looks something like this:

We will created A forum Labelled the universal trigger and credit has to be given to a subscriber for coming up with that name. We did not come up with that name.

depending on volatility we will adjust the trigger points, but for now the newly issued one's stand Patience is warranted and as the old saying goes, the best time to buy is when everyone and his grandmother is in a state of hysteria (panic)

I can't recall does the universal trigger then over ride the buy entry points for individual stocks? Or do we just use it to by DIA or DIA call?

That's brilliant. In Excel since I'm using the automated stock data I can just populate the DJI field and take percentages off that.
