George Soros Criticises Trump: Protests Funded by His Organisation

George Soros reset due to Trump.

George Soros and other wealthy liberals who invested heavily in the campaign to elect Hillary Clinton are convening in Washington for a three-day meeting to discuss how to rebuild the left’s political infrastructure to resist Donald Trump.

The conference, sponsored by the influential Democracy Alliance donor club, began on Sunday evening at Washington’s upscale Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It features appearances by leaders of many prominent unions and liberal groups and high-profile politicians such as House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison, according to an agenda and other documents obtained by POLITICO.

The meeting marks the first significant gathering of the institutional left since Trump’s unexpected triumph over Clinton in last week’s presidential election. If the agenda is any indication, the left plans a full-scale assault on Trump from day one. Some sessions will focus on preparing for the 2017 and 2018 elections, while others will concentrate on countering President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which the agenda describes as “a terrifying attack on President Obama’s accomplishments and our progressive vision for a fair and just nation.”  Full Story

George Soros: The Danger of Fear in Open Societies

Open societies are always at risk of being endangered, especially after terrorist attacks like those in Paris. The fear of death has become the Achilles heel of Western societies, allowing jihadi groups such as Islamic State and al-Qaida to exploit our emotions and lead us to behave irrationally.

These groups magnify our fear through their gruesome attacks and videos and cause even sensible people to abandon reason. Scientists have found that emotion is a key part of human reasoning, making it essential that we resist the threats and hysteria that surround us to maintain an open society.

Fear is a powerful force that can compromise our ability to think and act rationally, especially when it comes to matters of life and death. The fear of terrorism has caused people in open societies, particularly in America and Europe, to abandon reason and act irrationally.

Jihadist terrorist groups such as ISIS have learned to exploit this fear. By carrying out horrific attacks and disseminating macabre videos, they aim to magnify the public’s fear of death and push them towards irrational behaviour. This is because fear activates a primitive part of the brain that is separate from the part responsible for rational thought.

Open societies are particularly vulnerable to the threat posed by the public’s fear of terrorism. Previous generations have had to face similar challenges, such as the fear of nuclear war or communism and fascism, to understand the importance of keeping fear from corrupting reason.

Jihadist terrorists seek to persuade Muslim youth worldwide that terrorism is the only way forward, using attacks to achieve this goal. However, this strategy only increases fear and resentment towards Muslims in Europe and America, creating a vicious cycle that fuels extremism.  Full Story

Time For Soros To Change The Playbook

It’s time for everyone to move beyond the recent spate of violence and work towards bigger issues, such as tackling poverty and taking care of our veterans. While some on the left may have played a role in instigating the violence, it’s important for everyone to focus on the bigger picture.

George Soros may believe that attacking Trump and pandering to the left will bring about change, but these tactics may actually strengthen Trump’s support base. Instead of throwing tantrums, it’s important to accept the election results and move forward in a constructive manner. Failure to do so risks providing the right with ammunition and coming across as hypocritical.

It’s worth noting that there hasn’t been much action from politicians like Obama and Clinton to stop the rioting, which reinforces the belief that Washington is run by individuals who cater to the interests of the wealthy.
